Today, Labor Day closes another "summer" but hopefully there will be a few more "great days of summer" as long as the rain stays away!
I would like to thank Mrs.Sidilau and Mr.Guessferd for chaperoning the Jazz Band on Sunday's gig at the Nashua CC. I'm sure that I will get a full report from the Jazz Band officers tomorrow morning.
Speaking of officers - DE and J periods will have elections before the end of the week.
Wednesday night is our weekly field show rehearsal. Hopefully, this week we'll be able to run the entire show phrase by phrase while maintaining the application of all marching fundamentals.
Thursday night is our first FOM (Friends of Music) meeting. The meeting will begin promptly @ 7:00 p.m. Remember, if you want to be in the know and get first dibs on fundraising, tickets for Gillette Stadium, Annual Trip information etc...be there!
I hope everyone has printed off a copy of the NEW and IMPROVED schedule. If not, scroll down
REMEMBER the weekend Sept. 10 & 11 there are performances.
Sept.10 the Jazz Band will become the Marching Band as they play for the Candia OHD Parade.
Jazz Band students need to be at AHS by 9:15 a.m. to get dressed and load the equipment on the bus. My plan is to leave by 9:50 a.m. and arrive at the staging area in Candia by 10:30 a.m. The parade steps off at 11:00 a.m. we should be back to AHS by 12:30 p.m. the latest.
Sept. 11 - The entire AHS Bronco Marching Band and Colorguard as well as the B Naturals will perform for the 9/11 Commmerative Event. Students will need to arrive at AHS by 12:15 p.m. and be ready to board the busses by 1:10 p.m. The Commerative Event will be from 2:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m. We will be returning to AHS no later than 4:00 p.m.
PARENTS - if you have a student in the music performance programs then you are automatically a FRIEND OF MUSIC, please show your support, not only for the band but for the Town of Hudson on this very special day. I cannot begin to tell you how proud I am to be part of the festivities. God Bless America, and especially Hudson. (I know, I'm not politically correct!)
STUDENTS ONLY - Just a friendly reminder - performances (except where it is written optional)that are on the schedule count for a grade. Usually, there are 2-3 competencies covered at each performance. If you cannot make the performance it is YOUR responsibility to set up a time with me to perform the material you have 3 days from the date of the performance.
Seniors - I have begun the process of writing my letters of recommendation for college. If you are interested in having yours truly write a letter, please get your seniors resumes to me ASAP!
Looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow.
Ciao-
Mr. B
