Well I was hoping to write a bit of a reflection piece each night after band camp but time and fatique got the best of me :-(
Band Camp did end with a positive note (no pun intended). 43 sets (designs) and 900 steps were learned. As the week progress so did the focus of the kids. There were some definite hightlights to this year's band camp - "Milk and Cookies" delivered by the Milkman from Stonyfield was a HUGE HIT, the Ice Cream truck on Friday before lunch and the march off with the grand prize of hitting me with a whip cream pie just to name a few. I hope everyone has had a chance to view the great pictures shot by Allyson Jutras if you haven't had a chance go to the photo gallery and check them out!
The Londonderry Parade also went off without a hitch. Again, the Alvirne High School Bronco Marching Band and Colorguard were a hit! We are on a first name basis with our Governor John Lynch.
What a good looking band :-)
Parents, band and colorguard members don't forget to attend our refresher morning on Wednesday. Also, all the information about the Allentstown parade is on this website.
Presently, I am getting ready for the first day of school when everything becomes official. I can honestly say that all the students who have attended band camp, parades etc are well on their way.
OK I have some Music Department Administrivity to attend to.
Enjoy the remainder of the summer or what's left of it.
To all our alum who will be entering college or returning - Best Wishes!
Always,
Mr. B
